Privacy Policy

Last updated 25 June 2026

Interface (“Interface,” “we,” “us”) is an editorial publication operated by Interface Media. Interface Media is a trade name of River Computer, a Delaware corporation. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit Interface, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We collect as little as we can.

Information we collect

Information you give us. If you email us, subscribe to updates, or take part in an interview, we receive whatever you choose to send, typically your name, email address, and the contents of your message or contribution.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider records standard technical data when you visit: IP address, browser type, referring page, and the pages you view. We use this in aggregate to understand readership and keep the site secure. We do not build advertising profiles.

How we use information

We use the information above to publish and operate Interface, respond to your messages, send updates you’ve asked for, understand which pieces are read, and protect the site against abuse. We do not sell your personal information.

Cookies and analytics

Interface uses only the cookies needed to run the site and, where enabled, privacy-respecting analytics to count visits. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.

Service providers

We rely on a small number of vendors to operate Interface, for example website hosting, email delivery, and web-font loading. These providers process data only on our instructions and only as needed to provide their service. Loading our fonts may involve a request to a third-party font host, which receives your IP address as part of that request.

Retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected. For instance, we keep subscriber emails until you unsubscribe, and correspondence for as long as it’s useful to our editorial record.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can unsubscribe from updates at any time using the link in any email. To exercise any of these rights, email us at the address below and we’ll respond within a reasonable time.

Children

Interface is intended for a general, adult audience and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be noted clearly.
